Eno Ratings:
Eno Employee Thoughts: Before you ask, yes they grow grapes out in Contra Costa County! Maybe you weren't going to ask, so lets get into why this Zinfandel's so damn good. This wine has deep flavors of Rasberries, Blueberries and a nice backbone of acid to elevate the fruit. Its definitely worth a taste.
Winemaker Thoughts: Dark-red to near black in color. This is the most intensely aromatic wine we have produced from the vineyard. As always we aim for a style that is traditional with a firm vineyard voice. The vintage character of '13 is one of great intensity, but well balanced with bright acidity and vivid fruit. This is the lowest alcohol, 13.9%, we have ever had from this site. The vineyard speaks loudly rather than the hand of the winemaker -- something we firmly believe in.
Varietal/s: 100% Zinfandel (100 year old vines)
Any Other Semi-Important Stuff: Celebrated winemaker Nathan Kandler created this unique California blend using fruit from one of the most celebrated old-vine Zinfandel vineyards in the world. Together with other grapes found in the same field, the 100-year old Zinfandel creates a wine with wonderful characteristics of fresh raspberries and dried vanilla bean. Medium to full-bodied with lush tannins, this wine is truly beautiful.
